I've partnered up with my friends from Specialty Beads to bring you their 6mm Italian Wire Mesh in 100" spools more conveniently at their same great price! Many of you have asked for kits based on my Knotted Treasures and Pearl Mesh Bracelet from Beadwork Magazine and Bead Romantique, respectively.
Wire Mesh is the "generic" product name but is the
same quality as the "other" product made by the same Italian factory.
What's in
a name anyways? The only difference is that you get the same quality for less
cost. Every color is the SAME price. I don't know about you
but I'd like to save a few bucks wherever I can for more BEADS.
If you are making the Pearl Mesh Bracelet and select two colors/spools, they
will yield two bracelets or a matching ensemble. To create the necklace, simply
make two bracelets and before adding your clasp, add chain to elongate.
Save your left over mesh for the Knotted Treasure necklace, which is great
for leftover beads. To use the mesh, cut ribbon into 2.5 inch strips or
larger, dependent on how big you'd like your leaves. Tie an overhand knot
centering the mesh over your medium. Twist the ends with fingers and dab a
dot of GS Hypo Cement to the twisted ends to secure. Let dry and fluff up into leaf shapes.
The 6mm mesh can expand up to 2.5 times it's original size. Trim ends to desired
shaping if necessary but do not cut off glue. This will ensure the ribbon does not fray
or
the leaves losing its shape.
You can use the mesh as a tube also by inserting beads into it and tying
knots ever so often. To use the mesh as a necklace, if your pendant is
heavy, it is recommended that you re-enforce the weight by weaving beading wire
or ribbons with the mesh. You can SCULPT flowers, dragonflies,
butterflies and anything under the rainbow with the mesh as well. For

The mesh works wonderfully with all the freshwater pearl selections in our catalog. These colors also match well with my lampwork. I will be more than happy to help with color consultation for your project, if you'd like. You can go crazy designing with all the available colors as they mix well together and are interchangeable. So have some COLOR FUN! A little goes a LONG way too.
